IBPS PO Exam Pattern

IBPS PO 2020 is going to be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer. The notification for the same is going to be released shortly by IBPS in the month of July or August 2020. With the release of Official Notification, the Recruitment Process of IBPS PO start.
The recruitment process to select Specialist Officer through IBPS PO 2020 is done in three phases:

  • Online Preliminary Exam,
  • Online Mains Exam and
  • Interview.

A candidate must qualify both preliminary exam and mains exam to proceed to the interview round. The candidates selected after the interview round are given the appointment letter.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern: Important Points

  • The Prelims Exam of Probationary Officer ask question on English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The elaborated Prelims exam pattern is given in the table.
  • The Mains Examination will have just one additional section, i.e. of Current Affairs and Basic Computer Proficiency.
  • Only three sections will be asked in the Preliminary Exam of IBPS PO 2020 Exam.
  • The score of Preliminary Exam will not be taken into consideration for the final selection. Cumulative score of Mains Exam and Interview process in the ratio of 80:20 will be taken into consideration for final allotment.

Note:- Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

Note: Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main examinations). There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern: Interview Process

After IBPS PO Mains exam, qualified candidates are called for Personal Interview. Personal Interview comprises a good value for the final selection of IBPS PO. It contains of 20% weight-age in the merit list. Candidates need to do well in IBPS PO Interview.
